Clearly malicious mail goes to spam. Clearly legitimate mail goes to the inbox. The hard part is everything in between: newsletters, marketing email, vendor notifications, bulk-but-not-spam volume that pours into mid-market inboxes every day. And sometimes, a sender the user actually corresponds with gets caught in the filter. A global spam threshold cannot solve this per-user. What one user considers essential correspondence, another considers clutter. And a sender flagged as spam by the filter might be someone the user has been emailing for months. **InboxGenius handles this per-user with simple, practical mechanisms.** It checks sent-mail history to override false positives for known correspondents. It tracks drag-and-drop folder choices so each user's routing preferences are remembered automatically. And it detects newsletters by header and keyword so bulk mail goes to a separate folder without user intervention. What InboxGenius actually does ## Six capabilities, one goal: mail in the right folder InboxGenius uses straightforward mechanisms — sent-mail history, drag-and-drop tracking, newsletter header detection — to route each user's mail where they want it. No AI, no cloud models, no behavioral analysis. Just practical per-user routing that runs natively on Domino. 01 ### Spam redirect based on upstream verdicts Messages flagged as spam by SpamSentinel or by DuoCircle cloud scanning services are automatically redirected away from the inbox. InboxGenius detects Notes fields set by SpamSentinel and SMTP headers set by DuoCircle's cloud email scanning products. No user action required — flagged messages are moved before the user sees them. 02 ### Sent-mail lookup overrides false positives Before routing a flagged message to Junk, InboxGenius checks whether the user has previously sent mail to that sender. If the sender is found in the user's sent mail, the spam verdict is overridden and the message is delivered to the inbox — unless the user has set a conflicting preference through a drag-and-drop action. Optionally, this lookup can check other users' mail files for sent-mail history, though this is configurable and may add overhead in large environments. 03 ### Drag-and-drop sender routing InboxGenius tracks when users drag messages between folders — Inbox, Junk, and optional folders like -Newsletters and -Spam. It remembers which folder each user last chose for each sender and applies that routing to future messages automatically. No settings menus, no allow lists — just drag a message where you want it, and future messages from that sender follow. 04 ### Newsletter detection and routing (optional) Optional feature that automatically detects newsletters based on configurable keyword matching and standard email headers like List-Unsubscribe. Detected newsletters are routed to a -Newsletters folder, keeping the inbox focused on correspondence that matters. User drag-and-drop preferences always override automatic detection. 05 ### Other Inbox for unknown senders Optional inbox triage: internal mail and messages from known correspondents — anyone found in the user's sent-mail history — go to the Inbox. Internet mail from unknown senders is routed to an Other Inbox folder. Similar in concept to Gmail's old Primary and Social separation, but based on correspondence history rather than content analysis. User preferences always override. 06 ### Included with SpamSentinel.
