Simple Steps To Set Up NoIP Backup MX
Due to the ever-increasing risk of cyberattacks and the possibility of networking equipment malfunction, organizations must use backup email servers to backup MX records using postfix backup MX and NoIP backup MX. These tools work by directing the emails to the user when the primary mail server is down.
Steps To Setup NoIP Backup MX
If NoIP is not set as the user’s default managed DNS provider, then it is required to set priorities to MX records, which are Mail.yourdomain.com with priority 5, Mail2.no-ip.com with priority 15, and Mail1.no-ip.com with priority 10. These backup MX records can be set by logging into the NoIP account and are found under the Hosts/ Redirection tab. The incoming emails will not be queued up and directed to the inbox until the backup MX records are set up for relevant actions.
NoIP backup MX ensures that no emails are lost due to downtime of primary backup MX. It holds the emails and delivers them once the primary server is available. Moreover, the NoIP backup MX continually checks for the server availability at an interval of 5 minutes and holds the emails up to 7 days. Being a free backup MX is another added advantage!
